New Micro SD Cards from Toshiba EXCERIA
Just this week, Toshiba’s American branch announced in a press release that it will be releasing a new memory card that will join the ranks of its EXCERIA family of SD Card Flash memory storage products. Toshiba’s EXCERIA family stands for excellence and experience, and products in the family of memory cards are designed to deliver the high speed and performance that many of the latest electronic gadgets demand. The memory card Toshiba plans on releasing is the first microSDHC UHS-I-compliant card of the EXCERIA family.
The memory card that Toshiba intends to release will come out in the microSDHC format and will, according to the company, offer the industry the highest memory performance in the smallest storage format available on the market today. Being UHS-I-compliant means the cards will be capable of functioning at ultra-high speeds. UHS-I-compliant cards can process data at a minimum of 25 MB/s and reach a maximum speed of 104 MB/s. The first microSDHC cards to be released for the EXCERIA family are part of the Type HD series. Memory cards from the Type HD series address and meet the extremely high demands of the latest personal gadgets. You can expect them to handle HD video recording and continuous image shooting at professional levels of performance.
As standard procedure, Toshiba ensures that each of the memory cards from the EXCERIA family offers some of the fastest SD memory transfer speeds in the market; the Type HD card series is no exception. Type HD microSDHC cards are especially designed to undergo demanding conditions. On the tech spec side of things, the reading and writing speeds of cards from the series clock up to 95 MB/s and 30 MB/s, respectively. The expected release for the first Type HD microSDHC cards from Toshiba is sometime during the fourth quarter of this year. The cards will be available in storage capacities ranging from 8GB to 32 GB.
