Logo USB drives: How to make them stand out
Creating a promotional flash drive is easy; creating a promotional flash drive that stands out from a crowd is not. Think about the last time you saw USB drives at a retail store, which ones attracted your eye first? Which one did you inevitably purchase? Did brand recognition come into play while making your purchase?
Chances are you are not really sure which one grabbed your attention first, but you always remember which one you purchased. Now there are probably hundreds of different factors that came into play for your purchase, price, capacity, brand, material, and even shelf height, but in the end you chose a USB drive that fit your desired function as well as one that is dependable. Promotional flash drives are no different.
When designing a USB flash drives, many things must be considered to make them stand out. First and foremost choosing an appropriate theme is vital to your promotional success. Every booth at a tradeshow or every stand at a convention has a particular theme, and your promotional drives should have one as well. This means choosing appropriate colors, drive size, data capacity, etc. all in the effort to best suit your theme.
Next one must consider the value of your promotion and your drives. Are you offering your top of the line product, but handing out low quality flash drives? Or are you promoting a fantastic service, but only giving potential clients your flash drive with your company name on it? If you are going to want your flash drives to stand out, you must give them appropriate value. This means that if you are promoting a service, why not preload your drives with promotional content all about the service? Fill it with videos, audio, behind the scenes footage, contact information, product catalogs, etc.
Lastly to make your drives stand out, having an easy to read logo and contact information printed right on the drive is essential. This means do not put light yellow font on a white USB drive. It’s not only hard to read, but its straining on the eyes. Our particular advice would to use contrast colors as the human eye distinguishes between them the most. This means using a dark colored USB drive with light colored text, or vice versa.
As for making your contact information easily available, it should be a no brainer. USB drives are not like CDs or DVDs where once information is written to them it’s permanent. So unfortunately unless you Data Lock them down, information can be erased. However if you print your contact information on the drive itself, even if the data is erased, clients will still be able to contact you.
Creating a custom logo USB drive is not easy, and will take quite awhile getting all the necessary materials in order to pull off successfully. However if you have taken your time, planned ahead, and are giving your clients a valuable promotional item, then you are sure to stand out.
