Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas
Chances are if you are reading this, you are one of millions of people who are trying to do their last minute Holiday shopping. You have procrastinated long enough that the shelves are running dry, and only horribly looking sweaters are available. Well I’m here to tell you that although the retail stores may be running out of cool gifts, the online stores still have hundreds of gift ideas for this holiday season, especially involving USBs.
Now a USB may not seem that exciting, but technology has come a very long way in recent years which has allowed USB devices to not only store more information, but also open up new avenues that were previously limited due to old technology. Our first gift idea, for example, has recently opened up a new avenue to the movie industry and has allowed them to start selling popular movies on USB drives. Yes movies on USB drives does seem kind of weird, but almost all new generation TVs, DVRs, etc. have a USB 2.0 port and accept USB thumb drives.
Some examples of movies that have already been released onto custom USB flash drives are Ghostbusters, Star Trek, The Godfather, The Da Vinci Code, and Men in Black with many others coming soon. Movies on USB drives, as compared to DVD/BDs, make great gifts because USB drives have longer life spans than DVDs or BDs. They are also more resistant to damage via the sun, dropping, scratching, and can stand up to normal wear and tear much longer than traditional media.
Our second gift idea for the holiday season is to give him or her something that’s completely personalized. Nothing is more personal than giving a family member, friend, or coworker a gift that was specifically made for them. I am of course talking about personalized USBs. In today’s interconnected world, people are constantly carrying personal files around with them to business meetings, family gatherings, or even promotional events. Why not get that special someone the look and utility of a fancy pen, with the functionality of a USB drive? With custom pen drives, you can get them engraved to say just about anything, as well as put it into a custom USB package.
Our last gift idea if for that silly side, and perhaps perfect for pranking a coworker or getting them a goofy gift they can keep themselves entertained at work. Why not get them a wacky USB gadget? Some ideas include USB Batteries, USB Missile Launcher, or my personal favorite a LED name plate. All these gadgets are kind of geeky but their perfect for lightening the mood or passing a few moments while at work.
