Fashionable USBs? Introducing Wearable Custom USB Drives
USB drives in only a few short years have risen to become the next form of data storage with mass appeal. It seems custom USB flash drives can be seen everywhere these days. I heard the other day from a mother that her young girl in the 5th grade was required to have a USB drive for school.
Wow! Immediately I thought back to my childhood carrying a heavy load of books and a Trapper Keeper with papers stuffed in it with little or no organization. It must be nice to be a kid these days with the ability to carry a school years amount of work inside a USB flash drive that fits nicely in your pocket.
That brings up the subject of efficient and practical ways to carry a USB drive around with you. It seems most USB drives have some sort of loop or hole on the end. I personally have used this to put on key chains and have worked quite nicely. The idea that USB flash drives should be with you at all times have turned into all sorts of practical ways to carry them. The two most popular wearable USB drives on the market today are wristband USB flash drive and Lanyard USB flash drive. Wristband USBs look like they sound; it’s basically a rubber wristband that fastens a USB connector at one end into a slot on the other. I considered these to be a little bit gimmicky at first but when some fortune 500 companies started asking for hundred thousand piece quotes I kind of changed my tune. The wristband USBs can be easily customizable and are available in many colors. Another type of wearable USB is the lanyard USB flash drive. This USB is half lanyard and half USB drive. One benefit of lanyard USBs is that you can wear them around a trade show and easily exchange information with people. Instead of carrying a heavy bag full of printed brochures you could perhaps download digital brochures from each booth you stop at. Now that’s a great idea. It’s efficient and Eco-Friendly!
