The Custom USB Drive Pen is Mightier than Two Swords
Promotional products have been around for a long time and one of the most popular products has been the promotional pen. Why wouldn’t it be? It is one of the most conventional, widely utilized devices on the planet.
If you’ve ever been to a trade show, you know that you are guaranteed to at least once to pick up a promotional pen while you’re there. My little pen cup, for instance, is a collection of promo pens I’ve picked up over the years and to be honest, I can’t recall where I got them. What I can recall is the names of each of the companies printed on them, sitting there staring me in the face day in and day out. Let’s see 1, 2, 3….7 pens! I can’t imagine what some of the trade show veterans out there have in their pen cups. How many do you have?
Anyway the purpose of this blog was not to talk about all the promotional pens we have lying on and around our desks but instead to introduce a new type of Promo Pen, the Custom USB Drive Promotional Pen! Yes that’s right a Custom USB Drive that is also a Promotional Pen. It’s two devices in one. You have your conventional pen for writing notes or doodling while you’re on the phone with that persistent salesman and you have your USB drive that is hidden inside.
The USB drive inside the pen is accessed fairly easily by twisting the pen until it is unscrewed; which reveals the USB drive. Once the pen is unscrewed, one half of the pen contains the USB drive and the other contains the pen. This USB drive can be placed into any available USB hub on your computer and gives you the ability store several Gigabytes of data inside the pen. How cool is that? Imagine yourself sitting in a conference room writing down notes and then you ask the presenter if you can have a digital copy of the report. You simply unscrew your pen and hand over the USB drive. Even better, suppose you were the presenter and you had a USB pen that also included a laser pointer. Now that’s a useful device!
Personally I think custom USB promotional pens are a really great idea and just think of what your customer will say. If I were to receive a custom USB promo pen, I know I would be quite impressed. I would also think that a custom USB drive pen would get used quite a bit more than those other “odd ball” custom pens, like the ones sticking out of my pen cup. Custom USBs make a great promotional gift, just like the traditional ordinary pens. My question is, why not give them both? Your prospects and customer will be glad you did.
